Flora & Fauna

The Logar Valley and the mountainsides boast a variety of mountain flowers, some of which are very rare or even endangered. On Okrešelj, in the botanic oasis and elsewhere in the park, you can admire slipper orchids, Carniolan lilies, Auriculas, Zois’ Bellflowers, gentians, edelweisses and Kamnik orchids. The wider region of the Logar Valley is home to the golden eagle and the peregrine falcon. At higher altitudes, you can see chamoises and ibexes, and on the mountains you can also see Jezersko-Solčava sheep.
